In a meeting today, Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture chaired by Member of Parliament for Mpohor, Honorable Alex Agyekum orderd the Normalization Committee and their sportsmen to apologise and retract their statement on the clubs
Honorable Alex Agyekum made this revelation during an interview with Happy FM in Accra after the meeting.
” We met the Normalization Committee today, touched on the special competition that was cancelled.
” On the face value this competition is not part of their core mandates but we noticed that the competition will help us to get a representative for Africa.
” Yes we have asked the Normalization committee to apologize to the premier league clubs for the insults.
” If you’re dealing with someone, no matter the provocation, once you have agreed to work, you can’t be insulting people.
” We made them to understand that going forward, you can’t be throwing insults and calling them names like greedy, braggadocio and selfish. So the Normalization committee will come out to apologize.
” I believe it was not communicated well to the club owners, tomorrow we will touch on the financial issues and hopefully we will go back to the drawing board to bring football back.
