Ghanaian international, Asamoah Gyan has announced his retirement from football on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Gyan made this declaration as part of a speech he delivered at the 30th Afreximbank Meeting.
Baby Jet, as he was widely referred to had a career that spanned 20 years while he played for 11 clubs.
Gyan scored a staggering 216 goals in 417 appearances.
His 51 goals in 109 games for Ghana is the most in the country’s history.
Gyan was the 2010 BBC African Player of the Year.
He last played for Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League.
