Ghana’ all-time leading topscorer, Asamoah Gyan has applauded teammate Jordan Ayew for his fine form in the ongoing AFCON campaign.
Jordan Ayew whose inclusion in the Black Stars squad for the AFCON, saw some football pundits bashing coach Kwesi Appiah due to the striker’s lack of regular playing time at English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace in the just ended season, has suddenly rose up to be the poster boy for the Black Stars, scoring two goals in the tournament so far.
Speaking to Kyfilla.com editor-in-chief, Stephen Kwame Yeboah at Ismailia in Egypt, the former Sunderland attacker, Asamoah Gyan believes Jordan Ayew is doing what a striker needs to do for a team and has to continue to help Ghana land fifth AFCON trophy.
“Jordan Ayew is doing marvelously well, he is doing what a striker needs to do for a team. I will encourage him to continue”, he said.
Meanwhile, Ghana will take on Tunisia in the round of 16 stage of the AFCON 2019 at the Ismailia Stadium on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 7:00PM Ghana time.
