Ghana’s version of ‘Classico’ between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak has been launched today by the organizers at the True Vine Hotel in Kumasi.
The launching of the titanic clash was done by the chairman of the committee in charge of the organization Mr. George Amoako who doubles as the general manager for Kotoko.
Present at the ceremony were delegations from both team and other stakeholders
Asante Kotoko were represented by the General Manager George Amoako together with the Head of Communications Lawyer Sarfo Duku, the Special assistant to the Executive Chairman Iveys Coker and the Operations Manager Isaac Donkor.
Also Hearts of Oak were represented by the financial secretary Hackman Aidoo, the Head of Communications Kwame Opare Addo and Ishak Umar, the Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony George Amoako hailed the representatives of both clubs and added that Kotoko and Hearts accepted to play because they want to be the front runners of football in the country.
He also urged supporters of both teams to troop to the stadium to support their team to victory and also stated that they should be of good behavior during and after the match.
The first leg will come on this Sunday 26th August at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 3:00pm whereas the second leg is slated at the 2nd of September, 2018.
