Kumasi Asante Kotoko made history in Ghana football yesterday with their CAF Confederation Cup final play-offs game against Coton Sport de Garoura at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Porcupine Warriors clocked a whooping GHS 639,000 in gross from the gate proceeds and after deductions earned GHS438,000
The proceeds earned by the Porcupine Warriors yesterday is the highest gate proceeds earned in the history of Ghana football since Black Stars recorded GHC 420,000 in their 6:1 victory against Egypt in Kumasi.
Meanwhile, Kotoko after eleven years have qualified for the group stages of the competition and drawn in group C with Zambian giants ZESCO United and Nkana FC as well as Sudanese side Al Hilal.
The Porcupine Warriors will open their group stage campaign against Sudanese side Al Hilal on February 3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
