The entire playing body and technical staff of Asante Kotoko will undergo a Covid-19 test ahead of the possible new league season.
Football related activities in Ghana has been halted since March 2020 due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
In one of his interviews in the Western Region during a tour, President Akufo-Addo hinted that football will return very soon.

Before the President’s hint, the Ghana FA has already set first week in October for the start of the 2020/2021 league season.
However, Kumasi-based Opemsuo FM have announced that all Asante Kotoko players and technical staff will undergo a mandatory Covid-19 test on August 27, 2020 in accordance with the FIFA laid down protocols.

This means Asante Kotoko will be the third Ghanaian club to undergo Covid-19 testing after Legon Cities FC and AshantiGold SC.
Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League campaign.
