Management of Ghana’s only representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, Asante Kotoko have increased the per diem of their playing body to $500.
Kotoko qualified to the group stages of the Confederation Cup for the first time since 2008 after eliminating Coton Sport de Garoura in the final play-offs.
With this, the per diem for the players have increased to $500 to ginger them ahead of their first group stage game against Sudanese giant Al Hilal on Sunday February 3 in Sudan.
Dr. Amo Sarpong, who is the Policy Analyst for the Porcupine Warriors made this revelation during an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM
” I will applaud Prof Dr Kwame Kyei for his efforts both financially and emotionally’, he said.
” Per diems of the players have increased to $500 and it should tell you the importance he has attached to this competition. In Sudan,accomodation will cost us $250 per night.
Kotoko have been paired with Al Hilal from Sudan alongside Zambian giants ZESCO United and Nkana FC in the group C of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The team are expected to live the shores of Ghana on Thursday for Sudan ahead of their game against Al Hilal on Sunday.
