Kumasi Asante Kotoko have qualified to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time since 2008 after beating Coton Sports de Garoura 2:1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today.
Goals from skipper Amos Frimpong and in-form Maxwell Baako were enough as the Porcupine Warriors run away 2:1 winners from the cagey encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Kotoko managed to beat Coton Sports 3:2 at Yaounde last weekend and sealed qualification today in Kumasi after nailing the defending champions of the Cameroon elite league 2:1.
The Kumasi based team after victory today qualify to the group stages 5:3 on aggregates.
The double victory also means the Porcupine Warriors, the only Ghanaian representative in the CAF inter-club competition qualify to the group stages of the Confederation Cup for the first time since 2008.
