Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 conducted a swoop in Ashaiman and its environs in a manhunt for some criminals, who were suspected to have stabbed and killed Imoro Sherrif on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
The deceased, according to a GAF statement, was stationed in Sunyani but was in Accra on a course and sought the permission to visit his parents at Ashaiman, where he grew up but was found dead in a pool of blood in the early hours of Saturday near Amania Hotel.[ads3]
According to GAF, the military operation was sanctioned by the Military High Command and was not to avenge the killing of the young soldier but rather to fish out perpetrators of the heinous crime.
