Zylofon Cash Premier League giant Obuasi Ashantigold have suspended their head coach Charles Kobina Akunnor after failing to show up at the team’s training grounds www.kyfilla.com understands.
The former Dreams FC gaffer was expected to arrive in Obuasi at the start of the week to continue his duties following a brief break.
Akunnor was however no where to be found when the first team converged for training on Monday. He was later seen doing punditry work on the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup at a local TV station.
According sources at the camp of the Obuasi based team, the top hierarchy of the Miners are annoyed of what the head coach did and have decided to place an interim ban on him.
However www.kyfilla.com understands that the coach is suspended until further notice and has been asked to explain to the board why he failed to show up for training.
Tension between Akunnor and the leadership of the club has been on the rise especially after the coach publicly disagreed the signing of striker Sadick Adams who later left for Libya.
Meanwhile reports gathering by www.kyfilla.com indicates that the ex Black Stars captain may quit anytime soon to pursue further training in coaching abroad.
