Seasoned Sports Journalist and head of sports at Skyy Power 93.5FM, Mr. Joseph Oti-Asirifi Mensah is in a pole position to win the slot for Convocation Representative on the Governing Council of Takoradi Technical University.
A Senior Assistant Registrar at the Examinations Unit, Mr. Oti-Asirifi has served in different designations since gaining employment to the University in 2008. From the University Library as Junior Assistant, he was moved to the Faculty Officer’s Office (Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology) as a Principal Administrator, then to the Textiles Department as same, before being transferred to the Examinations Unit of the University where he has been for the last five years.
The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation trained sports journalist is known as a man of deep thoughts and unwavering urge to speak out his views forcefully and convincingly.
Opinion polls put him in the lead, ahead of three other contestants for the three-year tenure position. His endorsers speak of his zeal, good faith, intergrity, and the power with which he delivers on his convinctions. “He is very decisive, he’s an action man, most people will vote for him”, one Convocation member told this writer.
Mr. Oti-Asirifi is a professional communicator, unionist and the president of the Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana, Takoradi Technical University branch.
He heads the Disability Support and Services Unit of the University, same time the scribe of the Sports Committee. He’s served on several other committees in different capacities including Council Sub-Committees.
Mr. Oti-Asirifi, 41 years, and a father of three, holds M.A. Development Management and M.C. Oil and Gas Management.
The election of Convocation Representative on Council Non-Teaching takes place on 8th May, 2019.
