Two motorcycle riders were fatally killed on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, around 1:15 a.m. by a Toyota Camry at Awoshie, a suburb in Accra. The tragic incident occurred on the Awoshie-Pokuase highway in a suburb of Accra. According to an eyewitness, the victims on the motorcycle rode on the opposite side of the highway, facing oncoming vehicles. Police have arrested the Odikro of Gyabenkrom and two others for destroying more than 33,000 mature rubber trees on a plantation belonging to Ghana Rubber Estate Limited (GREL) in the Ahanta West Municipality in the Western Region. The Odikro identified as Nana Agyarko is reported to have allegedly employed some people outside Gyabenkrom, the community where the plantation is located.
