The University of Cape Coast (UCC) were adjudged winners of the maiden edition of the African Universities Olympic games held at the capital of Egypt, Cairo. Ghana was heavily represented in the maiden edition of the competition by three Universities namely the University of Ghana (Legon), University of Developmental Studies (UDS) and University of Cape Coast.
