Ghana’s senior women’s national team, Black Queens secured a 3-1 lead in the first leg of the final qualifier against Namibia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, December 1, 2023 courtesy goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Portia Boakye.
Coach Nora Hauptle and her charges continued their blistering campaign in the ongoing qualifiers with a 3-1 win in the first leg; Spartak Subotica’s Doris Boaduwaa opened the score cards and a cushioning from Skipper Portia Boakye saw Ghana end the first half 2-0 up.
Doris Boaduwaa scored her second and Ghana’s third inside the second half as it looked like a mauling was on the come up until the visitors, Namibia pegged a goal back to render the second leg all to play for.
The second leg comes up on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 as the Black Queens look to return to the biennial tournament after missing out on the previous edition.
After the Black Queens’ win over Namibia the team has made some stunning records and they are as follows;
1. The Black Queens have now gone ten games winning streak in the year 2023.
2. In the process the Black Queens have scored 34 goals.
3. Namibia’s goal against Black Queens is the first goal conceded in a run of 900 minutes.
