The ban on limited number of persons to attend awards show and conferences has been lifted.
This was made known by President Akufo-Addo in his eighteenth nationwide address on Sunday evening.

“Football, the passion of the nation, will return in two-weeks; private burials, still, with a maximum of one hundred (100) persons, are being performed; and the limit on the numbers of persons who can attend conferences, workshops and award events, has been lifted, subject to the strict adherence of COVID-19 protocols”, the President said.
The government, in March, 2020 placed a ban on all public gatherings like funerals, conferences, religious activities, weddings, awards shows and others as part of measures to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus.

The government subsequently eased the restrictions, given the greenlight for some public gatherings to have a limited number of persons in attendance.
The new update from the government, according to President Akufo-Addo, is a strategic, controlled, progressive, safe easing of restrictions by government to ensure Ghanaians have their normal lives.

President Akufo-Addo also added that, the next academic year for new and continuing University students will commence in January, 2021.
“SHS 2 and JHS 2 students are back in school, as are some students in tertiary institutions and colleges. Indeed, the academic year for new and continuing University students will commence from January 2021.”
