Bank of Ghana warns banks to stop photocopying Ghana Car
The Bank of Ghana has warned banks in Ghana to stop photocopying Ghana Cards. He urged banks to help curb fraud in the banking sector by implementing on using the Biometric verification system.
Mr. Ashitei Trebi-Ollennu, Deputy Head of Office in the BoG’s Financial Integrity Office, stressed, “We have never advocated for banks to photocopy Ghana Cards. Photocopying affects the integrity of transactions and creates opportunities for fraud.
Rather, he stated that banks must use the biometric verification system connected to the National Identification database to directly identify identities, guaranteeing a safe and trustworthy financial environment.
He hopes the move will help restore safe and trustworthy financial banking in the country.
