[ads1]Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye has finally pledged his unflinching support to the MP Aspirant of the area for the 2020 election Francis Asenso-Boakye.
He has promised to do everything within his power to make sure his opponent in the party’s primaries Francis Asenso-Boakye retains the seat for the NPP.[ads3]
“What we are saying is simple, in an election; one will win, while the other will lose. The people of Bantama have helped me a lot, now everyone knows but a time has come when I have to help my brother Asenso to go. Therefore we need to help him. If Asenso wins, I have won, when NPP wins, I have as well won, hence all misunderstanding in the elections in unnecessary this time”. Mr. Daniel Okyem Aboagye said this in an interview with Kumasi-based hello FM monitored by MyNewsGH.com[ads2]
According to him, his decision to fully support his brother came after key leaders of his party spoke to him on the matter.
“For that reason, we have united ourselves and that is the most important thing”, he stressed.
Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye Deputy Chief of Staff won the Bantama parliamentary seat with 456 votes on his third attempt at the seat by defeating incumbent MP Daniel Okyem Aboagye who pulled 122.
However, after the defeat of Mr. Okyem Aboagy accused the Deputy Chief of Staff Asenso Boakye of intimidating his supporters from voting for him amidst vote-buying claims.
