Ghana U23 side narrowly beat Hearts of Oak 1:0 in a friendly played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
The friendly was to prepare both sides ahead of their respective assignments.
Black Meteors will face their counterpart from Algeria in the Africa U23 qualifier while Hearts of Oak take on bitterest rival Asante Kotoko in the 2019 President’s Cup.
Nzema Kotoko talisman Akese Akese netted the only goal in the encounter for the Black Meteors in the second half.
The first half ended in a goalless before Akese Akese could opened the deadlock in the second half.
The Black Meteors will host Algeria on September 5 for the first-leg of the qualifiers before the reverse fixture in Algiers.
