The bonuses due Ghana’s U20 women’s national team players from last year’s qualifying matches have finally been disbursed.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports reduced the amount of bonuses that was due each player from $6,000 to $4,500, which has since been given to them.
After earning a spot in the 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Black Princesses did not received their bonuses until lately.
Yusif Basigi’s team qualified for the tournament for the seventh time in a row after playing three home and away games.
In the meantime, the Black Princesses are camping on Cape Coast in anticipation of Colombia hosting the World Cup.
After being matched with Austria, Japan, and New Zealand in Group E, Basigi’s team now has the difficult task of making it to the knockout stages.
The competition will begin on August 31. However, Ghana’s first match is scheduled for September 2 against Austria. Three days later, they will play Japan and New Zealand.
