Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has blamed two biggest Ghana’s political parties New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the country’s trophy drought.
The Black Stars of Ghana have not won a trophy after winning the 1982 African Cup of Nations where they defeated host country Libya 7-6 on penalties after 1-1 stalemate in regulation.

This according to Jiangsu Suning combative midfielder is the politics played around the national team by the two political parties.
“I will speak the truth today, do you know our problem about the game? Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it but i think politics ruins the Blacks Stars at times”, Wakaso told Angel TV.

“When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa. We have to support the team with unity like how we are fighting this virus and take politics out.

“Me for instance, I don’t care about NDC NPP because I haven’t voted before”, he added.
Mubarak Wakaso has capped 58 times for the Black Stars with 12 goals since his debut in 2012.
