Renowned broadcaster, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson has been granted bail after four days in remand.
The Media General employee was remanded in prison for two weeks on November 4, 2021 after publishing a fake kidnapping case.
Paa Kwesi Simpson has been granted a GHc 50,000 bail with two sureties, according to reports reaching Kyfilla.com.[ads2]

Paa Kwesi Simpson, the morning show host on Connect FM, a Media General subsidiary in the Western Region, on October 17, 2021 made a publication of a kidnapping case at Mpohor in the Western Region.
He said that a 26-year old lady with the name Stephanie Kumiwaa was kidnapped in Mpohor in the Western Region with the kidnappers demanding Gh¢2,000.00 as ransom.[ads3]
Investigations by the police reveal that the case is fake and had not even been reported at the Mpohor District Police Command.

To assist the police in the investigations, Paa Kwesi Simpson who made the publication was arrested alongside the boyfriend of the victim Samuel Kumi.[ads4]
After interrogations, the popular broadcaster was granted an enquiry bail whilst Samuel Kumi remained in police custody.
On November 4, 2021 the two were arraigned before where they were remanded two weeks in prison.[ads5]
