Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the sacking of Martinus Koopman following strings of uninspiring results in the Ghana Premier League as was announced on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
The Ghanaian Giants have gone a series of three games without victory extending to two wins in ten games. Martinus Koopman’s stay with the Phobians come to an end after his appointment on August 18, 2023.
The Dutch tactician spent three months at the position; played a total of 10 games, won 2 drew six times and lost two games leaving the club at the 11th position, 9 points fewer than leader Aduana Stars.
Hearts of Oak wrote: “The decision forms part of the Club’s grand aim of restructuring the technical team as we continue with the 2023-24 season”.
Hearts of Oak confirmed the takeover of the first team coach by Abdul Rahim Bashiru on the interim basis.
