Due to the upsurge of rain in recent days, the Takoradi Technical University Management has issued a statement banning all visitations to beaches effective Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Western Region woke up to a very sad new when three students from Daboase Senior High Technical School were confirmed dead after drowning in the heavily flooded Subri River, Daboase.
The news of the students whose bodies have just been recovered and deposited at the Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital Morgue might have been the panic which necessitated this release.
According to Connect 97.1 FM’s Paa Kwesi Simpson who reported the issue – “these form one students sneaked out of school and ended up meeting their untimely demise”.

The statement from management of Takoradi Technical University bars all activities at the beach specifically any form of visitation and other activities close to natural water bodies.
“BAN ON ALL VISITATIONS TO BEACHES
“The Management of Takoradi Technical University has with immediate effect, placed a temporary ban on all visitations and other activities by students to all beaches and other natural water bodies.
“This due to the heavy rains in the past few days. Students found culpable would severely be sanctioned.”
The statement is being circulated since its release by Joseph Oti-Assilfie Mensah, an Examiner and Head of Disability Unit at Takoradi Technical University.
