Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale from Ghana has expressed his dissatisfaction once more regarding the way that certain Ghanaian media outlets make him feel inferior to Nigerians.
He disclosed that Burna Boy moved to Ghana to live with him for a year and a half, but that Burna is now more beloved than he is.
He went on to say that although Davido had traveled directly to his home after arriving in Ghana some time ago, everything had since fallen apart as a result of the way Ghanaian media outlets had covered him. Shatta Wale said,
“Everyone with whom I began music has stopped.” The industry has created the impression that they do not have any markets, but in my opinion, they are still operating in some. I am not even considered a celebrity by most Ghanaians, and I always have a problem with the media because they treat me disrespectfully.
Because they have microphones, people will say anything when they sit in the radio. Additionally, I do not play because I have a microphone. I don’t disrespect people, but when people disrespect me, I retaliate. Davido came to Ghana and drove right into my house to see me.
Burna Boy came to Ghana and stayed with me for one and a half years, but today you can’t even compare us. The problem is us, because we don’t want to see the good in our artists, not foreigners.”
Because of his miscommunications in Nigeria, Burna Boy arrived in Ghana; however, Shatta Wale welcomed and assisted him as if he were a brother.
Throughout his visit, Shatta Wale performed in nearly all of his songs and took him to concerts. That was when they released the hit track ‘Hossana”.
