Telecommunications giants MTN Ghana on Monday July 3rd, 2023 made a donation to the Efutu Traditional Area in the Central Region as part of their support towards the celebration of this year’s Edina Bakatue Festival.
The donation was received by Nana Kojo Conduah II, Omanhen of the Edina Traditional Area Chiefs and some Planning Committee members of the Edina Bakatue Festival. The weekly celebration of the rich history of the Edina Bakatue Festival commenced on Monday and will end on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, in a speech delivered on behalf of the Senior Manager for the South-West Business District, Mr Prince Owusu Nyarko by the manager for the Central Region Business Sector Francis Gyang said – “I’m honored to be here today to mark the Bakatue Festival with you all. I feel privileged to be part of this historic occasion, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nananom for allowing us to be part and to celebrate this important event”.
“The theme of this years celebration : ‘buying and using Made in Ghana goods to create jobs’, cannot be over emphasised.
“In our country, unemployment is a serious and ever-present issue. Our youth are in need of jobs and they are looking for opportunities where to take their creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
“We as a nation are capable of developing a local economy that does not shy away from foreign trading and global connectedness, but also celebrates, promotes and embraces the goods and services that are “Made in Ghana”. At MTN, this is exactly what we have been striving to do.
“We have invested in Ghanaian products and services that can boost our economy and support our people.
