Simba Sporting Club narrowly beat Al Ahly today in the CAF Champions League group stages match four at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium today.
Meddie Kagare’s 65th minute strike was enough for the Msimbadzi Reds as they whipped Al Ahly 1:0 to brighten their chances of qualifying.
Ghanaian trio James Kotei, Asante Kwasi and Nicholas Gyan featured, helped the Tanzanian club to secure their second victory in the group stages campaign.
The narrow victory means Simba SC place second in the group D table with six points waiting for the outcome of JS Saoura and Vita Club clash this evening. Al Ahly after losing today to the Mainland Champions remain top of the table with seven.
Simba prepare for JS Saoura at away in their next encounter scheduled for March 9, 2019 and the trio expect to run triumph over Saoura.
