Libyan side Al Tahaddi secured a 1:0 victory against Dormaa based, Aduana Stars in a near-empty Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Despite playing home away from home, the Libyans showed class and purpose, but were undone by missed chances and the safest gloves of goalkeeper Joseph Addo.
Aduana Stars did well defensively, the pair of Paul Aidoo and Stephen Anokye Badu ensured that the goal had a good cover.
The home side probed for the game’s first and found the first on the 34th minute after Mahmoud Ahmed rounded up two defenders before carving one pass Joe Addo.
After recess, revitalised Ogya Lads came in stronger in the second half in search for parity, but could not get the equaliser as the Libyans secured the needed advantage with a solitary goal.
Aduana Stars will have a fair opportunity to better Al Tahaddi in the second leg which comes of in a fortnight.
