Medeama SC lost 3-0 at the hands of Yanga in the CAF Champions League second leg tie of group D at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
Medeama’s chances of qualifying from the group stage are now dimmed after a the loss. Medeama have previously lost 3-0 to Al Ahly and won 2-1 win over CR Belouizdad. They drew 1-1 with Yanga in the first leg.
Zouzoua , Musonda and Yahya scored Yanga’s goals on the 33rd, 61st and 66th minutes respectively.
Jonathan Sowah missed a penalty for Medeama on the 55th minute and was shown a second yellow card therefore leading to his send off.
The 3-0 scoreline puts Medeama on third place with 4 points just as CR Belouizdad with Al Ahly leading and Yanga now with 5 points.
Medeama’s next Champions League game will be a return leg fixture against Al Ahly on February 24 2024.
