Medeama SC lost 1-0 at the hands of Al Ahly in round 5 of the CAF Champions League second leg tie of group D at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Medeama’s hopes of qualifying past the group stage are now shattered after the loss.
Medeama had previously lost 3-0 to Al Ahly and won 2-1 win over CR Belouizdad. They drew 1-1 with Yanga in the first leg and lost 3-0 in the second.
El Shahat’s 48th minute strike was the only difference between the two sides.
The 1-0 scoreline sends Medeama to the bottom of their table with 4 points. Al Ahly tops the table with 9 points and Yanga are third with 5 points just as their round 5 opponent CR Belouizdad.
