Betpawa Ghana Premier League Champions Medeama SC defeated CR Belouizdad 2-1 in their second group stage game in the CAF Champions League.
Medeama were very eager to make a statement after losing their first group stage game in a 3-0 scoreline at the hands of Al Ahly.
CR Belouizdad’s Benguit scored the game’s first goal on the 39th minute through a penalty kick but the Algerian side’s lead did not last as Daniel Lomotey scored the equalizer for Medeama on the 45th minute.
In the second half, Medeama dominated play in an attempt to get the winning goal but the resilience of Belouizdad denied them until the 94th minute thus 90+4 when Kamaradini scored a header from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner to help Medeama grab all three points in a dramatic fashion.
With the next group stage game between Young Africain and Al Ahly yet to be played, Medeama are third in their group with three points.
Medeama’s next Champions League game will be played on December 8 against Young Africain.
