Medeama Sporting Club secured a 3-1 win in the first leg of the Confederation of African Football’s Champions League against Horoya AC at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Three second half goals gave the Tarkwa-based side in a cruise control of the tie ahead of the second leg in a fortnight.
Following a quiet first half display that saw the two sides produce blank scorecards, Babil Nana Kofi scored three minutes into the second half and Medeama continued the onslaught on the Guinean side.
Nurudeen Abdulai and Kofi Asmah added two more on the 65th and 69th minutes respectively to ensure the tie was well within grasp until a late Fofana Lamine Mohammed strike as a consolation for the away team.
The two teams will renew their rivalry for the slot in the group phase on September 30, 2023 away at the Guinean capital, Conakry.
