The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially ordered a replay of the 2025 AFCON Qualifier match between Cameroon and Kenya following an extensive investigation into allegations of match-fixing.
The decision comes after FIFA’s Integrity and Compliance Unit, in collaboration with CAF and global sports integrity agencies, found credible evidence suggesting irregularities in the match played on October 16, 2024, in Yaoundé.
According to a statement released by CAF, forensic analysis of match footage and intelligence reports from monitoring agencies identified possible instances of match manipulation involving multiple individuals. Among those under scrutiny is Kenyan goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, whose actions during the match have raised significant concerns regarding compliance with FIFA’s anti-match-fixing regulations.
