Confederation of Africa Football’s Executive Committee has reopened plans to create a continental club competition for women’s football.
The women’s game has had a significant growth around the globe; Africa has domestic leagues scattered across 35 nations.
CAF in its effort to push the women’s game has put plans in place to aid the growth of football this time touching on club football.
CAF’s Executive Committee meeting slated for Tuesday, 30th June 2020 will touch on the creation of the Women’s Champions League.

The African continent has no competition for Women’s football and CAF’s Executive Committee will be putting plans in place to ensure that gap is filled.
In a bid to promote and solidify the game on the continent, CAF expanded the number of participants for the African Women’s Cup of Nations from 8 to 12 in 2018.

Democratic Republic of Congo has opted out from hosting the 2020 edition of the Women’s Cup of Nations before uncertainty clouded the stating date of the tournament with the emergence of Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Executive Committee of Confederation of Africa Football will touch on the new date for its tournaments including the FIFA world cup qualifiers for Under 17 and 20.
