Ampem Darkoa Ladies played their first CAF Women’s Champions League match with a 2-1 comeback victory over reigning champions ASFAR.
Najat Badri scored with a stylish finish to give the champions the early lead and make the score 1-0 at half-time.
After the break, Ampem Darkoa gained control of the game and attacked the champions. Comfort Yeboah’s spectacular hit in the 56th minute gave Ampem Darkoa the equalizer.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies then capitalized on the momentum shift to score another goal, and in the 62nd minute,when Comfort Yeboah’s effort deflected a defender to give them their second.
AS FAR made several attempts to get back into the game after conceding two goals in the second half but to no avail.
Ampem Darkoa will end the game by making history as debutants who have handed the reigning Champions a defeat in their first game of their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign.
