The Centre for Languages and Liberal Studies (CELLIBS) of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has held a training workshop for its staff and other stakeholders.[ads2]
The training, which spanned two days, was to equip the over seventy participants with knowledge and skills on conducting and publication of researches in the University.
The training, which was the second edition, was held from Thursday, February 2, 2023 to Friday, February 3, 2023.
Participants were modelled through vivid practical sessions on the topics: conducting research in the social sciences and publishing research outputs in the social sciences: What, How, Why, Who and Where?[ads3]
Speaking to Kyfila.com after the workshop on Friday, Professor Ramos Asafo-Adjei, the Dean of the CELLIBS, revealed that the workshop as well as others organised by CELLIBS is geared towards achieving the University’s research agenda, as set out by the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun.
Prof. Ramos Asafo-Adjei said the Centre for Languages and Liberal Studies of the Takoradi Technical University University instituted the training mainly to drive the research agendum of the University.
He noted that the Takoradi Technical University has a target of producing researches that will inform teaching and learning at the University to be able to produce graduates who will fit into the working space and satisfy industrial skill demands, hence the introduction of the workshop training.
He urged the participants to apply the skills acquired in their own domain to advance the frontiers of knowledge, adding that CELLIBS would continue to give lecturers the opportunity to learn current trends, and the University will count on the participants to apply the skills to produce quality researches to advance the mission of the University to be a world class university recognised for innovation and societal relevance.

The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Francis Enu-Kwesi of the Department of Integrated Development Studies at the University of Cape Coast and Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Agyemang of the Department of English at the University of Ghana.
This year’s edition of the workshop was under the theme; Revitalising interdisciplinary research and publications in the Takoradi Technical University: The role of the Centre for Languages and Liberal Studies.
