Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi Hasaacas FC, Samuel Arbuah has raised some useful questions regarding Ghana Football Association’s proposal to change the 48 clubs zonal Division One League to 18 clubs national league.
The GFA earlier announced plans to format the 48 zonal DOL competitions to 18 teams national league; forming a committee to look into modules to help with the process.

Speaking on the matter in an interview with Connect FM’s Alfred Takyi-Mensah, the hardworking young CEO refreshingly posed some questions and cautioned against hasty decisions.
“We have a lot of critical issues to deal with, the reason for us not playing football should be paramount. What are the reasons for changing the league structure from 48 teams to 18 teams, what happens to the other 30 clubs?
“It shouldn’t be a rush; we should first scan the environment – what are the defects in the current system that merits a change? We changed our league system to professional league in 1993, are we playing a professional league?

“We shouldn’t just change because others are playing autonomy league or not”.
