Frank Acheampong has been punished for hitting an opponent during a Chinese Super League game with a four-match suspension and a 40,000 yuan ($5,580) fine.
The Ghanaian international is expected to follow the decision. A recent video footage shows the former Black Stars winger punching Chinese defender Gu Cao, knocking him to the ground during a match between Shenzhen FC and Henan FC.

The Chinese FA fined and suspended the Ghanaian winger after sitting on the case.
Acheampong was dismissed as his team Shenzhen FC lost 3-1 to their adversary. He had never before been sent off in more than 350 professional games.
Gu, a center-back for Henan, was also penalized by the Chinese FA and suspended for two games in addition to being fined 20,000 yuan for insulting Acheampong as shown in the video.
Acheampong moved to Shenzhen in April 2021, and in 63 appearances in the Chinese Super League for the team, he has scored 18 goals.
