Former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Samuel Oduro Nyarko has said it will be very difficult for the GFA to manipulate Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.
The GFA has recently been accused of manipulating Black Stars coaches when it comes to players selection with former Black Stars coaches like CK Akonnor and Kwasi Appiah coming out to share their ordeal.
However, Oduro Nyarko believes Chris Hughton is a different personality with huge experience as a football manager who will not sit down for the GFA to manipulate him.
“Hughton is the man who cannot be manipulated; he is good. I think that he is the one who will stick to his guns and not allow himself to be manipulated. That makes him a good coach, coupled with his experience in the English premier league.
“It (the Black Stars) is a young team and the possibility to lead this team to success is glaring.” Oduro Nyarko told Citi FM.
Chris Hughton was appointed the Black Stars head coach last month on a year and half contract which will expire on December 31, 2024.
The former Newcastle United manager succeeded Otto Addo who resigned as the Black Stars head coach after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where Ghana performed abysmally.
Before his appointment, Chris Hughton served as the Black Stars technical director for the World Cup in Qatar.
He played his first game as Black Stars head coach against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers in Kumasi where Ghana won by 1:0 followed by a 1:1 draw in Luanda.
