The media sector in the Western region is appreciably increasing as new radio stations and online portals keep popping up whenever necessary.
The increasing number of radio stations in the ‘OilCity’ is certainly improving access to information, facilitate businesses, give employments and also deepen the democracy in the country since the media is considered as the fourth realm of government.

One of Ghana’s biggest media firm, Class Media Group (CMG) has given birth to new radio station Takoradi 99.1FM in the Western Region.
The station, located in the Western Region’s capital Takoradi has begun test transmission and currently gaining an appreciable listenership.

Takoradi FM becomes Class Media Group’s subsidiary in the Western Region and is expected to rub shoulders with the existing ones in the region’s media space.
Currently, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis alone boast of about 30 radio stations including newbies like Big FM, Angel FM, Cheers FM, Fox FM, Kingdom FM, Sweet FM, Maximum FM, Sharp FM, Radio 360, Ahortor FM (Off air) and host of others.

Class Media Group are the operators of Class FM, Accra FM, Adehye FM, Kumasi FM, Ho FM, Classmediaonline and hosts of others.
