Asante Kotoko legend Sarfo Gyamfi has descended heavily on former Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The Kotoko legend said that he would have axe the former gaffer long time ago if he had the power to do so as he saw nothing good about what Ogum was doing at the club. He said Ogum was backed by the club’s hierarchy by signing a lot of players yet he couldn’t solve the problem.
“If I had the power, I would have sacked him long ago. He signed a lot of players, but the problems still remained.”
Sarfo Gyamfi went on further to dissect what went wrong in the dressing room. He said the coach always uses unpleasant languages when the players commit mistakes. A coach need to motivate his players but not to insult them and call them uncivilized.
“With what I hear from the dressing room, there are a lot of issues between the players and the coach, like some reports suggested earlier.”
“I’m sorry to disclose this, but as a footballer, if your coach commends you in training and pushes you to work hard, even if you make mistakes, you feel encouraged. But when a coach resorts to insults, calling players uncivilised, it breaks the spirit. It was better for him to leave.”
