Mr. Sushil Ram- the programme Manager at the Commonwealth Secretariat visited the Youth and Sports Minister, Honorable Isaac Asiamah at his office today February 8, 2019 in Accra.
The meeting was centered around the measures and steps the ministry through its agency, the National Youth Authority is taking to review the Ghana National Youth Policy
The discussions which lasted over an hour and half saw Mr. Ram on behalf of the Commonwealth Secretariat, announcing their decision to help the Akufo-Addo’s government effort of reviewing the Youth Policy with a consultant, who will augment the exceptional work done by the ministry.
According to Mr. Ram, the consultant who goes by the name Micheal Boampong will assist the National Sports Authority and all stakeholders to complete and relaunch a policy that captures the hopes and aspirations of the Ghanaian youth.
Ghana has also been selected to host a high-powered ministerial meeting for Youth Ministers in Africa later this year. The meeting enables government ministers and senior officials to share good practices, debate emerging issues, take stock of pioneering initiatives and forge new partnerships for resourcing youth development.
Present at the meeting was the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Curtis Perry Okudzeto, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Emmanuel Asigri ,Director of Human Resource of the National Youth Authority , Mr. Ekow Eshum and Consultant, Mr. Micheal Boampong.
