Student of Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School has tested positive to the global pandemic, coronavirus in school.
Over hundred contacts are now expecting their results.
The freshest update on the virus and its impact in the opening of schools has revealed the Bechem-based PRESEC has recorded its first case.
Michael Boamah, the assistant headmaster of the school has revealed the news to Accra-based Accra FM explaining that the lad began showing symptoms of the virus few days after school reopened.

“The student came to the school’s clinic complaining he was not feeling fine, he could not smell neither did can he taste food. Though he reported he was ill, he is still strong even to date” – He said as quoted by Occupygh.com
Boamah added that the school’s nurse immediately reported the incident to the Government Hospital at Bechem and the student was tested for covid-19.
The assistant headmaster further added that the student was taken to through psychological therapy and subjected to other assessments to prepare him in other to accept the result.

He added that some of the students, almost 100 who came in contact with the student are currently awaiting their results.
The school’s quest to combat the spread has provided veronica buckets at the entrance of every classroom and dormitory, and has also shared sanitizers to the students.
Michael Boamah ended by saying the National Commission for Civic Education and the District Health Directorate have taken the students through counselling and several other safety protocols.
