In a bid to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana, the GNPC Foundation have donated protective items to the various markets women in the Western region.
The exercise forms part of the Foundation’s core mandates to promote health and safety through health campaigns and interventions.

On behalf of the Foundation, the Executive Director Dr. Dominic Eduah, presented 20 Veronica Buckets, 400 bottles of hand sanitisers, 40 gallons of hand washing soap, tissue paper, dustbins, gloves and face masks to the Market Circle Community.
Dr. Dominic Eduah stressed on the need to be each other’s keeper by practicing good hygiene and social distancing as much as possible in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease in China’s Wuhan Province barely three months ago, Ghana has recorded twenty-four cases with one death case.

The Ghana Health Ministry have indicated that more cases are likely to be recorded but Ghanaians need to adhere to the precautionary measures such as washing the hands with soap under running water, using alcohol based hand rub among others to avoid the spread of the disease.
Over 43 countries in Africa have so far recorded cases with only 12 in the continent yet to record a case.
