Goldstar Air, a wholly-owned Ghanaian airline has pledged to offer seed money of Ghc 5,000.00 for travel agencies that have registered with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for over a year and the agencies must also be willing to apply for Goldstar Air’s local billing system and pay the same amount or more to sell its tickets.
This is to bring back the former glory days of travel agencies, which are fading gradually due to COVID-19 and competition from operating airlines.

Instead of Goldstar Air directly competing with the travel agencies, they intend to establish good working relationships in the form of strategic alliances to keep all the Ghanaian travel agencies in business for them to keep their staffs as well.
As a matter of fact, about 90 per cent of the travel agencies in Ghana do not have the international billing system because of the $50, 000 bank guarantee, so this will come as a relief to them and we will also offer Ghana tour operators competitive air fares to their clients, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.

Goldstar Air has established contact with some Hotel owners, Tour operators and Car rentals on post COVID-19 remedial measures and begin holding dialogues about sustainable tourism, Innovative and sustainable tourism programmes and initiatives to bring more benefits to travelers in terms of services and also introducing competitive fares to enable tourists and visitors to start coming back, as well as injecting rapid growth to the West African tourism market.
As a Ghanaian registered Company, we also plan to utilize the country’s status as the “Gateway to West Africa” to develop the West Africa market by introducing scheduled flights to and from countries within ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) to the rest of the world.
