The Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has urged Ghanaians to comply with the directives from the government to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Hon. Asiamah who double as the legislator for Atwima Mponua constituency in the Ashanti region advised during a tour to some health facilities at the Constituency.
“We should be very careful in this period to avoid getting infected with the disease. Even countries like USA, England, Spain and Italy have been greatly affected.

“The virus has no respect for anyone, it’s affecting the poor and the rich too. Just comply with the directives from health officials and the government to avoid the spread of the disease.
“Currently no vaccine has been found to cure the disease but what you can do is to be self discipline by washing the hands frequently and keep social distancing”, he added.
He took the opportunity to inspect the health items he donated to the Mpasatia Community Clinic, Kotokuom Health Centre, Saakrom Health Centre, St Peters Hospital at Ntotroso and Achiase Health Centre and also added more to aid them in the fight against the pandemic.

He lauded the government’s efforts in fighting the disease and urged other institutions and individuals to continue supporting.
Accompanying Hon. Isaac Asiamah were Hon Williams Darko the District Chief Executive, Dr Joojo Cobbinah who is the District Health Director alongside other party executives.
Coronavirus cases in Ghana
As of Sunday, April 12, the Ghana Health Service announced that, the country has recorded 566 cases of the pandemic with 8 deaths.
They broke it down that, ten people are in mandatory quarantine in Tamale with all responding well to treatment.

Also, 105 cases have been confirmed in Accra with all also responding to treatments very well.
They explained that, 205 cases have been confirmed in the routine surveillance with 4 people recovered, 191 are responding to treatments whilst 2 are in critical and moderately ill with 8 deaths.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has extended the initial one month ban on public gatherings for further period of two weeks with partial lockdown on some parts of Accra, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tema extended for additional one week
