The identity Ghana’s first dead victim from the novel Coronavirus has been revealed.

The victim, according to Ghanaweb is called Tarek Minkara, 61-year old, who resides in Kumasi passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Ghana due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Minkara who is a Lebanese was confirmed dead by the deputy Health Minister Mr. Alexander K Abban on Saturday.
He is believed to be a spare parts dealer and a highly revered personality in Kumasi of the Ashanti region of Ghana.

He left behind a kid and a wife.
According to Ghanaweb, the family have rejected claims that, Tarek died of the Coronavirus disease despite a confirmation from the Health Ministry.
The family explained that, the deceased has been battling an unknown illness for the past three months and could not have died because of the pandemic.
But the deputy Health Minister, Mr. Alexander K Abban in an interview with TV3 on Saturday broke the news that, the Lebanese died after he was confirmed to have contacted the deadly disease.
“The information I got from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is that that person [the Lebanese man] has died. He died today”.
Tarek’s last social media activity was on October 23, 2019.

He has not been active on social media since updating his profile photo with a picture of himself with the flag of Lebanon on his face on the aforementioned date.
Ghana has so far recorded twenty-one cases of the Coronavirus pandemic with on death who happens to be Tarek Minkara.
Since his death, President Akufo-Addo has announced a closure of all Ghana borders from land, sea and air for two weeks.
There is also a suspension of all social gatherings with schools, churches, universities all closed down until further notice.
