President Akufo-Addo has announced that the Covid-19 National Trust Fund has accrued GH¢8,750,000.00.
He made this known during his fifth address to the nation on measures the government has adopted to combat the Coronavirus disease in Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo was the first to donate his three months salaries to the Fund followed by his Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who also donated his three months salaries before other government appointees and institutions also followed.
The Covid-19 National Trust Fund is to help the vulnerable infected by the virus and also the frontline health officers who are combating the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.

“I’m very grateful to individuals and institutions who have responded to my appeal for donations to be made into the COVID-19 National Trust Fund. A total amount of some 8,750,000 cedis which includes 600,000USD has been received.
“I’m also happy that my appointees have followed my example by donating to the Fund.
