The GNPC Foundation has presented a set of hygiene facilities comprising Veronica Buckets, gallons of soap, boxes of hand sanitizers and paper towels to the Sekondi Central Prisons.
This gesture forms part of the Foundation’s current campaign aimed at supporting certain key institutions and public spaces to combating the spread of the Coronavirus in Ghana.

Since the launch of a campaign to compliment the government’s effort in fighting against the Coronavirus pandemic, GNPC Foundation has been donating hygienic materials to institutions, hospitals and traders at the various markets in the Western region and today extended their benevolence to the Sekondi Central Prisons.
At a short presentation, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, noted with grave concern the health related challenges at many prisons across the country and the burden of having the deal with a pandemic such as the one currently being fought.

“We understand these are tough times and it’d take the sacrifices of all of us to pull through this very difficult time together and consistent with our support to this facility (Takoradi Central Prison), we have decided to assist with improving hygienic conditions to help fight off the risk of spread,” he said.

Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Mark Kofi Atsu Agbosu, thanked the GNPC Foundation for its continuous support to the facility and reminded that it has been a year since the facility was last fumigated with the help of the Foundation.
He therefore requested for assistance once more to fumigate the entire facility this year as well; a request accepted by the GNPC Foundation.
