The Northern Regional Minister Mr. Salifu Saeed has announced that a Guinean who has been infected with the Coronavirus disease has escaped from quarantine facility in Tamale.
According to the Minister, the patient is among the ten Guineans who tried to enter Ghana from Burkina Faso after a ban on the closure of all borders.

Mr. Saeed stated that, the patient whose name has been withheld scaled a wall, leaving behind his belongings on Monday.
“Since I yesterday, up till this morning, I have not slept, with my security people. I directed that they should use all their networks to be able to track the person down and get her,” Mr. Saeed told the media.
Kyfilla.com understands, two police and two soldiers were guarding the facility where the patient managed to escape.
“Our people are safe… we are working very hard to ensure that the people don’t get too panicked. Nobody should be afraid because the security personnel are on top of the issues.”

However, there are media reports that the patient has been found in a community near Kumbungu.
Per the reports, the patient has been arrested by the community members and have so far informed the police.
But the authorities are yet to confirm the new development.
