Ten people have died from the devastating coronavirus in the Kumasi metropolis within a space of two weeks.
This was contained in a press release from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in collaboration with the Metropolitan Health Directorate.
According to the release dated July 19, 2021 , the metropolis has recorded two hundred new cases from July 1, 2021 to July 13, 2021.[ads2]
The upsurge in the cases according to the release started after the Christmas festivities and the disregard to the covid-19 protocols
According to the press statement, signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of KMA, Henrietta A. K. Aboagye, the upsurge of new cases, can be attributed to the massive disregard for Covid-19 protocols.
The KMA, therefore, encouraged members of the general public to adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has revealed that the country’s active Covid-19 cases stand at 2,858, while 382 new cases have been recorded.
